Pwn2Own contest leaves Chrome as only browser standing

The Pwn2Own competition is one that challenges people in the internet security business to find exploitable vulnerabilities.

The only browser left standing after the first day of the competition was Google’s Chrome browser which only recently came out of its beta phase. Many account Chrome’s success to the fact that every tab in the browser is sandboxed and so cannot interact with other tabs and other system processes.

Safari was fell victim to Charlie Miller within seconds of the competition starting. Firefox and IE fell later in the day.

Start your BitTorrent downloads remotely.

I found this on Lifehacker and just felt I had to share.

This is the use of the file syncing software Dropbox to sync torrent files from the machine you are on to a remote machine where you want to download the torrent.

This is all assuming you have Dropbox on both  computers  and you have a torrent downloading software which allows you to monitor a folder for active torrents (such as uTorrent and Transmission). You can also upload torrent files from the Dropbox web interface from a computer where you can’t install Dropbox.

Check out the story on lifehacker here.

I’m making a concerted effort to get back to it as best I can, and with the weather starting to get warmer and sunnier, I imagine it’ll be a bit easier to find the willpower to go outside and capture the light.

I was reading around this morning on some of my usual haunts and found a funny list of Photography Truths on another WordPress blog.
